Welcome to Next30ATL!
Updated: Oct 11
Next30ATL is a locally owned newsletter and website helping metro Atlanta’s adults 50-plus make the most of the Second Half of Life. Through trusted journalism, actionable advice and personal stories, we explore how to live healthier, make informed decisions, stay connected and find more enjoyment in the years ahead.
This stage of life can bring new freedom, fresh possibilities and some complicated questions. How much longer do you want — or need — to work? Is it time to move, start a business or pursue something you’ve put off? How do you care for aging parents while managing your own future? And what’s worth doing around Atlanta this weekend?

You don’t need to have everything figured out. Next30ATL is here to help you explore your options and decide what comes next.
Next30ATL is focused on life in metro Atlanta, with coverage of Georgia and national developments that affect you. We cover work and retirement, health, housing, family, travel, entertainment, volunteering and opportunities to learn and connect. We also explain policies that affect your finances, daily life and future. Along the way, we introduce people whose experiences offer fresh perspectives on what’s possible after 50.
Our twice-weekly newsletter brings useful reporting and ideas to your inbox. At Next30ATL.com, you’ll also find stories, directories and guides you can return to when you need them. Our work rests on careful reporting, reliable sources and clear explanations that help you separate fact from hype.
I’m Randall Bloomquist, Next30ATL’s editor and publisher. I’ve spent more than 45 years asking questions for a living, including writing for The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and other newspapers and magazines. I’ve also worked as a radio executive, public-relations professional and small-business owner.
My own life has included marriage and divorce, raising four children, career changes, financial success and bankruptcy. Those experiences have taught me that the future rarely follows a straight line — and that useful information and other people’s perspectives can make a real difference.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll explore, share your thoughts and join us.
Subscribe to the Next30ATL newsletter for practical information, local discoveries and fresh perspectives on life after 50 — delivered twice a week.
